Ein himmlisch gezeichnetes Exemplar von Rhinoscapha lunulata — ein Rüsselkäfer aus der Familie CURCULIONIDAE, dessen Artname vom lateinischen lunula für „kleiner Mond“ stammt und auf die charakteristischen sichelförmigen Markierungen auf seiner Oberfläche verweist. Während Rhinoscapha basilica für königliche Pracht und Rhinoscapha dohrni für institutionelles Erbe benannt ist, steht lunulata für etwas ganz Poetisches — die stille Geometrie des Mondlichts, dargestellt in Schuppen und Chitin. Die Gattung Rhinoscapha, vom Griechischen rhis („Schnauze“) und skaphe („Boot“), verleiht mit ihrem charakteristischen bootförmigen Rüssel dieser Art das gleiche elegante strukturelle Profil, das die gesamte Gattung auszeichnet. This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
