Euphaea lara lara is the nominate subspecies of Euphaea lara, a robust and richly coloured damselfly within the family Euphaeidae, found along forested streams in the Malay Peninsula and Borneo. Like its congeners, lara is characterised by the relatively large size, powerful build, and warm amber-orange wing colouration that distinguish the genus Euphaea from more delicate damselfly families. The subspecific designation lara lara identifies this as the nominate form — the reference population against which other subspecies are defined — lending it particular taxonomic significance for collectors building a systematic Euphaeidae or Bornean Odonata series. This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
