Septaria — also known as septarian nodules — are among the most visually fascinating stones in the mineral world. Their name derives from the Latin septum (partition), a reference to the striking network of internal cracks and chambers that define each piece.
These nodules formed millions of years ago when volcanic activity killed small marine creatures, and sediments accumulated around their remains. Over time the material hardened, shrank, and cracked inward, filling with contrasting minerals to create the bold, geometric patterning that makes every septarian specimen entirely unique.
This free form cut showcases the stone’s natural contours while the polished surface brings out the full depth of colour and internal structure — warm browns, ochres, and grey-black seams that shift with the light.

This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
