Discover the impressive size and striking appearance of Cyriopagopus minax (formerly Haplopelma minax) - the formidable Thai bird-eating tarantula. This wholesale lot of 10 A1 quality extra-large specimens (approximately 180mm / 7 inch leg span) offers exceptional value for collectors, framers, retailers, and natural history enthusiasts seeking these magnificent arachnids.
Thai bird-eating tarantulas are among Southeast Asia's largest and most impressive arachnids. Despite their common name, they rarely prey on birds - instead, they're opportunistic hunters that feed on insects, small reptiles, and other invertebrates. Their robust build, powerful fangs, and defensive nature make them fascinating subjects for natural history displays and educational collections.
These wholesale tarantula specimens are ideal for diverse uses. Create stunning framed displays showcasing arachnid anatomy, stock your retail shop or gallery with unique natural history items, build educational collections demonstrating spider morphology and diversity, use in taxidermy and natural history art, incorporate into resin art pieces, or add to entomology reference collections.
Your wholesale lot includes 10 Thai bird-eating tarantulas (Cyriopagopus minax) from Thailand, each measuring 125-150mm in leg span. Specimens arrive dry-preserved and ready for framing, mounting, or your creative projects. Expect impressive size, glossy black colouration with subtle markings, and robust body structure with thick, powerful legs.
Tarantulas are among the world's largest spiders, with over 900 species worldwide. Cyriopagopus minax is a burrowing species found in the forests of Thailand and Myanmar. They're known for their defensive behaviour and impressive size. The robust exoskeleton and distinctive leg structure make them ideal specimens for studying arachnid anatomy.
All our tarantula specimens are ethically sourced from sustainable collecting programmes in rural Thailand. We work directly with local collectors who follow responsible practices, ensuring wild populations remain healthy and habitats are protected.
Each specimen is graded A1 for quality, meaning excellent condition with intact legs, minimal damage, and good colour retention. These are collectors-quality tarantulas suitable for professional displays, retail sale, or educational use. Minor variations in size and colouration are natural and add to the uniqueness of each specimen.
Thai bird-eating tarantulas offer exceptional educational value. They demonstrate arachnid anatomy including eight legs, two body segments (cephalothorax and abdomen), chelicerae (fangs), pedipalps, and spinnerets. Perfect for teaching about predator adaptations, venom delivery systems, exoskeleton structure, and the ecological role of large spiders in tropical ecosystems.
Your specimens arrive carefully packaged with protective materials to ensure safe transit. Each tarantula is individually wrapped to prevent damage during shipping.
Stock up on impressive arachnids. Order your wholesale lot of Thai bird-eating tarantulas today and discover why these formidable spiders captivate collectors and natural history enthusiasts worldwide.
