Papilio polytes ledebouria – A1 Unmounted Butterfly | Marinduque, Philippines

A1 quality unmounted specimen of Papilio polytes ledebouria, the Common Mormon butterfly, sourced from Marinduque Island, Philippines (May 2026).

One of the most widespread and recognisable swallowtails in Southeast Asia, Papilio polytes is celebrated for its striking sexual dimorphism — the male displays bold black wings with a row of white spots, while the female is a remarkable Batesian mimic of the toxic Pachliopta swallowtails, displaying vivid red and white patterning. The Philippine subspecies ledebouria is a particularly desirable form for collectors.
