Burmese amber — or Burmite — is among the most scientifically significant and sought-after ambers in the world. Originating from the Hukawng Valley of northern Myanmar, it dates to the mid-Cretaceous period, approximately 99 million years ago, making it one of the oldest fossiliferous ambers commercially available. Its extraordinary age places inclusions within the era of the dinosaurs, offering a rare and direct window into Cretaceous forest ecosystems.
About Amber Inclusions
Amber inclusions are organisms entombed in ancient tree resin — not tree sap — millions of years ago. As the resin enveloped the specimen, it began a natural process of polymerization, hardening first into Copal and, over millions of years of burial and geological pressure, eventually transforming into true amber. The result is a window into a lost world: organisms preserved in extraordinary detail, suspended in time as if captured only yesterday.

This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
