Eutropis multifasciataは東南アジアで最大かつ最も広範囲に分布するスキンクの一種で、インドや中国南部からマレー半島、インドネシア諸島、フィリピンにかけて分布し、森林の縁や庭園、開けた地面で日光浴をするなじみ深い生息者です。種小名のmultifasciataは「多くの帯状模様」を意味し、特徴的な側面の縞模様を指します。頑丈で昼行性の雑食性で、無脊椎動物、小型脊椎動物、果実を食べます。卵を産むのではなく胎生で子を産むという、トカゲの中では珍しい生殖形態を持ち、進化的に重要な生殖戦略の変化を示しています。スキンク科の頭蓋骨は頑丈でよく骨化しており、アガマ科の頭蓋骨とは異なり、浅いソケットに歯が並ぶ側面歯（プレウロドント歯）、広く強化された側頭部、硬い獲物を処理するためにコンパクトで強力な構造を持つ点が特徴で、この標本に明確に保存されています。正確で科学的に教育的価値が高く、真剣な自然史コレクションや爬虫類学研究に非常に有用な標本です。
