Draco haematopogonは、東南アジアで最も視覚的に壮観なトカゲの一種です。驚異的な属であるDraco（トビトカゲ属）の一員で、マレー半島、スマトラ島、ボルネオ島、および周辺の島々に分布し、低地林や丘陵林の中層部に生息しています。属名のDracoはラテン語で「ドラゴン」を意味し、その名はまさにふさわしいものです。これらのトカゲは、大きく伸長した肋骨が薄い皮膚の膜、すなわちパタギウムを支える、驚異的な滑空器官を備えています。パタギウムは左右に広げることで、鮮やかな翼状の一対のパネルとなり、樹木間を最大10メートル滑空することを可能にします。種小名haematopogonは「血のように赤いひげ」を意味し、縄張りの誇示や求愛に用いられる雄の鮮やかな赤い喉垂れに由来します。展翅状態では、パタギウムが完全に伸びた姿で展示され、滑空面全体を解剖学的な細部まで観察できます。膜の下には、伸長した肋骨の構造もはっきりと確認できます。真に驚異的で、解剖学的にも独特かつ視覚的に卓越した、自然史コレクションや爬虫類学研究にふさわしい逸品です。

This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
