암모나이트는 두족류 연체동물로, 오늘날의 나틸러스와 오징어의 친척이며, 백악기 말 멸종하기 전까지 3억 년 이상 세계 해양을 지배했습니다. 이들의 껍데기는 이집트의 양뿔 신 아몬의 뿔을 닮아 이름 붙여졌으며, 크기는 몇 밀리미터에서 지름 2미터 이상까지 다양했습니다. 이 쌍은 마다가스카르에서 출처를 얻었으며 약 1억 1,500만 년 전인 하부 백악기에 속합니다. 절단 및 연마되어 암모나이트가 자연에서 가장 연구되고 찬양받는 화석 중 하나가 된 놀라운 내부 구조를 드러냅니다.
정확히 중앙을 가로질러 절단된 이 쌍의 각 절반은 껍데기를 가스가 채워진 여러 방으로 나누는 복잡한 격벽과 봉합선을 보여줍니다. 이 부력 시스템 덕분에 동물은 수중 깊이를 조절할 수 있었습니다. 마다가스카르 암모나이트 특유의 무지갯빛 광물화는 연마된 면에 자연광 아래에서 보석 같은 빛깔 변화를 선사합니다. 전시대와 함께 제공되며, 쌍으로 맞춰 전시하거나 개별적으로 전시할 수 있습니다.

This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
