Een dubbel eerbetoon in één exemplaar van Eupholus schoenherri petiti — een juweelkever uit de familie CURCULIONIDAE die twee geëerde namen draagt in één specimen. De soortnaam schoenherri eert Carl Johan Schönherr (1772–1848), de Zweedse entomoloog wiens monumentale achtdelige werk Genera et Species Curculionidum tot op heden de fundamentele referentie is voor de taxonomie van kevers — een man die tientallen jaren van zijn leven wijdde aan het catalogiseren van precies die familie waartoe dit specimen behoort. De ondersoortnaam petiti voegt een tweede laag van eerbetoon toe, ter nagedachtenis aan een andere bijdrager aan de entomologische kennis. Droog bewaard volgens A1 museumstandaard, behoudt dit specimen zijn volledige chromatische intensiteit en fijne oppervlaktedetails.

This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
