Tourmaline is a crystalline boron silicate mineral, compounded with elements including aluminium, iron, magnesium, sodium, lithium, and potassium. Classified as a semi-precious stone, it occurs in a wide spectrum of colours — black tourmaline (schorl) is the most abundant variety and is prized for its bold, striated crystal habit and deep lustre.
