Ranatra longipes celebensis é um percevejo aquático predador impressionante da família Nepidae, nativo da ilha de Sulawesi (Celebes), na Indonésia. Subespécie da amplamente distribuída Ranatra longipes, a forma celebensis distingue-se pelo corpo excecionalmente alongado, semelhante a um pau — uma das formas mais esbeltas e graciosas do género. Tal como todas as espécies de Ranatra, é um predador furtivo de emboscada que captura invertebrados aquáticos e pequenos vertebrados, equipado com patas anteriores raptoriais e um longo sifão caudal utilizado para respirar à superfície da água. O seu endemismo insular e as suas proporções elegantes fazem de celebensis um espécime particularmente desejável e pouco comum para colecionadores interessados em Hemiptera aquáticos, na biodiversidade de Sulawesi ou na extraordinária diversidade dos percevejos.
