Uno de los insectos más imponentes del sudeste asiático, Neocerambyx gigas es el gigante de la familia Cerambycidae. Proveniente de Tailandia, cada espécimen está preservado en seco individualmente y extendido según el estándar de museo, mostrando los élitros aterciopelados y ricamente texturizados de color castaño oscuro, y las impresionantes antenas largas y segmentadas que definen la línea de los longicornios. Un espécimen central para cualquier colección seria de Coleoptera o historia natural.
Neocerambyx gigas es uno de los escarabajos longicornios más grandes que existen. Los machos grandes son especialmente valorados por sus proporciones robustas y su imponente presencia, una especie que representa la grandeza de la biodiversidad tropical y detiene a cualquier visitante en seco.
