Un ejemplar celestemente marcado de Rhinoscapha lunulata, un gorgojo de la familia CURCULIONIDAE cuyo nombre de especie, del latín lunula que significa "luna pequeña", hace referencia a las distintivas marcas en forma de media luna que decoran su superficie. Mientras que Rhinoscapha basilica se nombra por su grandeza real y Rhinoscapha dohrni por su legado institucional, lunulata se nombra por algo mucho más poético: la geometría silenciosa de la luz de la luna reflejada en sus escamas y quitina. El género Rhinoscapha, del griego rhis ("hocico") y skaphe ("barco"), aporta su característico rostro con forma de barco, otorgando a esta especie el mismo perfil estructural elegante compartido en todo el género. Preservado en seco con estándar de museo A1, este ejemplar conserva su patrón natural completo, detalle superficial y la forma distintiva de Rhinoscapha.

This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
