Un esemplare luminoso di Eupholus geoffroyi — un curculionide gioiello della famiglia CURCULIONIDAE, nominato in onore di Étienne Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire (1772–1844), il visionario naturalista e anatomista francese che propose l’idea rivoluzionaria che tutti gli animali condividono un piano strutturale comune — un concetto che anticipò la biologia evolutiva moderna. Il suo coraggio intellettuale nel sfidare le ortodossie del suo tempo lo collocò tra i naturalisti più lungimiranti dell’era dell’Illuminismo. Una specie che porta il suo nome incarna quello spirito di scoperta e pensiero audace. Come membro del genere Eupholus, geoffroyi rappresenta la brillantezza visiva per cui il genere è celebre — bande vivide e gemmate in blu elettrico, verde e nero che rendono i curculionidi gioiello della Nuova Guinea i più ambiti al mondo. This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
