Bronchocela jubata (Lucertola della Foresta Crestata) – Un esemplare di teschio di lucertola di qualità museale in condizioni A1, sapientemente conservato a secco e non montato, ideale per collezionisti di storia naturale, erpetologi, educatori e artisti.
Bronchocela jubata è una lucertola agamide arborea snella e dai colori vivaci, endemica dell’arcipelago indonesiano — principalmente Giava, Bali, Lombok e Sulawesi — dove vive ai margini delle foreste, nei giardini e nelle aree boschive aperte. In vita, è una specie appariscente — verde brillante con una prominente cresta nucale e dorsale di scaglie allungate, da cui deriva sia il nome comune sia l’epiteto specifico jubata, che significa ‘crinita’ o ‘crestata’. Insettivora diurna e veloce, è capace di un rapido cambiamento di colore in caso di stress, passando dal verde al marrone scuro. Il teschio dell’agamide è un esempio robusto e ben articolato dell’osteologia cranica delle lucertole iguanidi — con dentatura acrodonta — denti fusi direttamente al margine della mascella senza alveoli, una caratteristica distintiva degli Agamidae — una regione temporale ampia e ben sviluppata e un muso moderatamente allungato chiaramente conservato in questo esemplare. Un’aggiunta precisa, scientificamente interessante e visivamente distintiva per qualsiasi collezione seria di storia naturale o studio di anatomia comparata.
