Lonchura punctulata è uno dei fringuelli estrildidi più diffusi e di successo al mondo, originario di un vasto territorio che va dall’India e Sri Lanka attraverso il Sud-est asiatico fino alla Cina meridionale, e naturalizzato in gran parte del Pacifico, delle Americhe e oltre. Riconoscibile per le sue ricche parti superiori castagne, le parti inferiori bianche decorate con distintive scaglie scure — da cui deriva il nome comune — e il robusto becco conico, è una specie familiare e adattabile di praterie, risaie e macchia aperta. Lo scheletro estrildide è un esempio raffinato e ben proporzionato di osteologia passeriforme — con il caratteristico becco adatto a rompere i semi, la furcula compatta e le ossa sottili degli arti posteriori chiaramente conservate in questo esemplare. Un’aggiunta precisa e scientificamente preziosa a qualsiasi seria collezione di storia naturale o esposizione artistica.

This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
