Lonchura maja è un piccolo e socievole passero estrildide originario della Penisola Malese, Sumatra, Giava e Bali, ampiamente introdotto nel Sud-est asiatico. Immediatamente riconoscibile per il netto contrasto tra la testa bianca pura e il corpo marrone castagna, è una specie familiare di praterie aperte, risaie e cespugli, spesso incontrata in grandi stormi. Uccello da gabbia popolare nella regione, è uno dei munia più distintivi del genere Lonchura. Lo scheletro estrildide è un esempio raffinato e ben proporzionato di osteologia passeriforme — presenta il caratteristico becco robusto adattato per la sgusciatura dei semi, la furcula compatta e le ossa sottili degli arti posteriori chiaramente conservate in questo esemplare. Un’aggiunta precisa ed elegante a qualsiasi collezione seria di storia naturale o esposizione artistica.

This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
