Neurobasis chinensis florida è una sottospecie della celebre Damigella Metallica Verde — una delle damigelle più spettacolari visivamente in Asia e un gioiello della famiglia Calopterygidae. La sottospecie florida è distribuita in alcune parti dell’arcipelago filippino, rappresentando la forma endemica insulare di questa straordinaria specie e aggiungendo un livello di precisione biogeografica che la rende particolarmente interessante per i collezionisti che costruiscono una serie sistematica di Neurobasis o di Odonata filippine. Come la sottospecie nominale, i maschi mostrano le caratteristiche ali posteriori metalliche di un intenso verde smeraldo iridescente che rendono Neurobasis chinensis immediatamente riconoscibile e ambita — sebbene sottili differenze nell’estensione delle ali e nelle marcature del corpo distinguano florida dai suoi congenere. In posizione distesa, le ali posteriori iridescenti sono esposte al massimo effetto. Un esemplare sottospecifico preciso e desiderabile.
