本物の驚異的な標本、Pachyrrhynchus morotaiensis — CURCULIONIDAE科の装甲ゾウムシであり、自然界で最も視覚的に壮観なカブトムシの一つです。属名のPachyrrhynchusはギリシャ語のpachys（「厚い」）とrhynchos（「くちばし」）に由来し、このグループの特徴的なシルエットを形作る強化された吻部を表しています。しかし、Pachyrrhynchusを真に際立たせているのは、その表面です。ターコイズ、白、黒の鮮やかな幾何学模様に配列された虹色に輝く宝石のような鱗片のモザイクが、この属を世界で最も希少な装甲ゾウムシにしています。種名のmorotaiensisは、この標本がインドネシア北マルク州のモロタイ島に由来することを示しており、第二次世界大戦の戦場として歴史的に重要であり、ウォレス地域の生物多様性ホットスポットの一部として生物学的にも重要な島です。A1博物館基準で乾燥保存されており、この標本はすべての虹色の鱗片と幾何学模様を完全かつ息をのむほどの詳細で保持しています。

This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
