Draco hennigiはボルネオ島固有のトビトカゲです。ボルネオ島は地球上でも特に生物多様性に富む島の一つであり、スンダ諸島にまたがって最大の種多様性を示すDraco属の固有種分化の中心地でもあります。本種は、分岐学および系統分類学の創始者であり、生物分類を根本的に変革した業績で知られるヴィリー・ヘニッヒ（1913–1976）に献名されました。そのため本種は、属内でも特に科学的意義の高い名前を持つ種の一つです。科学的価値、生物地理学的重要性、そして卓越した視覚的魅力を兼ね備えた、真に価値ある自然史コレクションまたは爬虫類学研究用の追加標本です。
