名高いグリーンリバー層から産出した、希少なDiplomystusの化石魚で、先史時代の水生生物の一片を手に入れましょう。始新世（5600万年前～3390万年前）にさかのぼるこの淡水魚は、現生のニシンやイワシの遠い祖先です。
Diplomystusは、表層での捕食に適した特徴的な上向きの口を持つ、外洋性の捕食者でした。化石記録から、グリーンリバー層で別種の代表的な属であるKnightiaを活発に捕食していたことが分かっており、先史時代の捕食者と被食者の関係に関心を持つコレクターにとって魅力的な標本です。
各標本には驚くほど詳細な解剖学的特徴が保存されており、現在のアメリカ西部にあたる地域を広大な湖沼系が覆っていた、始新世の淡水生態系を垣間見ることができます。
