天体のような模様を持つRhinoscapha lunulataの標本です。CURCULIONIDAE科のゾウムシで、種名のlunulaはラテン語で「小さな月」を意味し、その表面に特徴的な三日月形の模様があることに由来します。Rhinoscapha basilicaが王室の壮麗さにちなんで名付けられ、Rhinoscapha dohrniが機関の伝統を表すのに対し、lunulataはもっと詩的なものに由来しています。鱗粉と外骨格に表現された月光の静かな幾何学模様です。属名Rhinoscaphaはギリシャ語のrhis（「鼻」）とskaphe（「舟」）に由来し、この種に特徴的な舟形の吻（ロストラム）を与え、属全体に共通する優雅な構造的輪郭を持っています。A1博物館基準で乾燥保存されており、この標本は自然な模様、表面の細部、そして特徴的なRhinoscaphaの形状を完全に保持しています。
