Takydromus sexlineatusは東南アジアで最も特徴的なトカゲの一つで、インドや中国南部からマレー半島、インドネシア諸島に分布しています。細長く敏捷で、高い草や葦の群生地、藪の縁に生息し、密生した植生の中を驚くべき速さと器用さで移動します。属名のTakydromusは「速い走者」を意味し、アジアで最も敏捷な小型トカゲの一つを的確に表しています。種小名のsexlineatusは「六本線」を意味し、体の長さに沿って走る6本の淡い縦縞模様を指します。視覚的に印象的で、解剖学的に極端かつ科学的に教育的な、真剣な自然史コレクションや爬虫類学研究にふさわしい標本です。
