Orthetrum testaceumは、ショウジョウトンボの一種で、南アジアから東南アジア、さらに太平洋を越えてハワイなどにまで分布する、最も広く知られた、ひと目で見分けやすいトンボの一つです。大型のトンボ科に属し、オスは全身が均一で鮮やかな緋赤色を呈します。種小名のtestaceumは、レンガ色または瓦色を指しています。翅はほぼ透明で、鮮やかな体色を主役として引き立てます。赤いトンボの中でも特に広い分布域を持つ種の一つであるtestaceumは、初めてのコレクションにも、経験豊富なトンボ研究者によるトンボ科の比較シリーズにも適した、古典的で魅力あふれる標本です。翅を広げた状態では、透明感のある整った翅と鮮やかな緋色の体が、大胆かつ優雅で、見応えのある姿をつくり出します。

This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
