Rousettus leschenaulti는 중간 크기의 과일박쥐로, 파키스탄, 인도, 스리랑카에서부터 남중국, 말레이 반도, 인도네시아 군도에 이르기까지 남아시아 및 동남아시아 전역에 분포하며, 동굴, 암석 피난처, 고대 사원에서 대규모 군집을 이루어 서식합니다. 프랑스 식물학자 장-밥티스트 레셴롤트 드 라 투르(1773–1826)의 이름을 따서 명명되었으며, 그는 인도와 동남아시아 전역에서 광범위하게 표본을 수집했습니다. 속명 Rousettus는 Pteropodidae 과 내에서 독특한 위치를 차지하는데, 구세계 과일박쥐 중 유일하게 음파 탐지(에콜로케이션)를 사용하는 속입니다. 이 박쥐는 동굴 내 완전한 어둠 속에서 간단한 혀 클릭 소리를 내어 길을 찾는데, 이는 곤충을 잡아먹는 박쥐의 정교한 후두 음파 탐지와는 근본적으로 다른 원시적인 클릭 기반 음파 탐지로, 동일한 탐색 문제에 대한 독립적인 진화적 해결책입니다. 과학적으로 뛰어나고 행동학적으로 독특하며 해부학적으로도 특이한 이 표본은 진지한 자연사 수집이나 비교 해부학 연구에 훌륭한 추가 자료입니다.

This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
