자연계에서 가장 시각적으로 화려한 딱정벌레 중 하나인 CURCULIONIDAE과의 갑옷 딱정벌레 Pachyrrhynchus morotaiensis의 진정으로 특별한 표본입니다. 그리스어 pachys(“두꺼운”)와 rhynchos(“주둥이”)에서 유래한 속명 Pachyrrhynchus는 이 그룹의 특징적인 실루엣을 만드는 강력하게 강화된 주둥이를 의미합니다. 그러나 Pachyrrhynchus를 진정으로 돋보이게 하는 것은 표면입니다. 청록색, 흰색, 검은색의 생생한 기하학적 무늬로 배열된 무지갯빛 보석 같은 비늘 모자이크가 이 속을 세계에서 가장 탐나는 갑옷 딱정벌레로 만들었습니다. 종명 morotaiensis는 이 표본이 인도네시아 북말루쿠 주의 외딴 섬 모로타이에 속함을 나타내며, 제2차 세계대전 전장이자 월레스 생물다양성 핫스팟의 일부로서 생물학적으로 중요한 지역입니다. This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
