Een aanzienlijk en fijn afgewerkt neolithisch bijlblad, gekloofd uit vuursteen/agaat, met een intact snijvlak en een prachtige natuurlijke patina. Oorspronkelijk uit de Ténéré-regio van het Saharische Neolithicum (Tenereaanse cultuur), werd dit stuk vervaardigd door dezelfde bekwame ambachtslieden die de kenmerkende bladvormige pijlpuntjes van die periode maakten.
Agaat — uitzonderlijk hard en fijnkorrelig — was een gewaardeerd grondstof voor zowel functionele gereedschappen als prestigeobjecten. Dit exemplaar is opvallend groot en zwaar, maar toont de zorgvuldige afwerking die typisch is voor hoogwaardig Tenereaanse lithisch werk. Geen restauraties.

This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
