As inclusões em âmbar são organismos sepultados em resina de árvores antigas — não seiva — há milhões de anos. À medida que a resina envolvia o espécime, iniciava-se um processo natural de polimerização, endurecendo primeiro até formar copal e, ao longo de milhões de anos de soterramento e pressão geológica, transformando-se finalmente em âmbar verdadeiro. O resultado é uma janela para um mundo perdido: organismos preservados com um nível extraordinário de detalhe, suspensos no tempo como se tivessem sido capturados ainda ontem.
