The Five-horned Rhinoceros Beetle is a spectacular member of the Dynastinae subfamily, renowned for the male's elaborate horn structure. Males possess five distinct horns: two on the head (cephalic horns) and three on the thorax (pronotal horns), used in combat with rival males for access to feeding sites and mates.
Sexual Dimorphism: Males are significantly larger and feature the characteristic five-horn arrangement, while females are smaller with minimal horn development, making pairs ideal for comparative study.
Natural History: Found in tropical forests of Southeast Asia, these beetles are nocturnal and feed on tree sap and fermenting fruit. Larvae develop in rotting wood over 1-2 years before pupating.

Specimens are supplied unmounted, ready for pinning, spreading, or alternative display methods. Standard entomological mounting involves pinning through the right elytron, but these beetles also work well in resin, dome displays, or custom taxidermy arrangements.
Recommended Tools: Size 3-5 entomological pins, spreading board (optional), setting strips, insect pins for leg positioning.
All specimens are ethically sourced from sustainable populations in Thailand. We work only with established suppliers who adhere to international wildlife trade regulations and local conservation laws.
Store unmounted specimens in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight. Keep in sealed containers with naphthalene or paradichlorobenzene to prevent pest damage. Once mounted, display away from humidity and strong light to preserve colour and condition.
