About This Specimen

Eutropis multifasciata is one of the most abundant and widespread skinks in South and Southeast Asia — distributed from India and Sri Lanka through southern China, the Malay Peninsula, and the Indonesian archipelago to the Philippines and beyond — where it is a familiar, sun-basking inhabitant of forest edge, gardens, agricultural land, and open scrub. The specific epithet multifasciata means ‘many-banded’, referring to the species’ characteristic lateral striping pattern of multiple pale lines running along the flanks. Scincidae — the skinks — is the largest family of lizards on Earth, with over 1,500 described species, and one of the most ecologically diverse squamate radiations, ranging from fully limbed surface-active species like E. multifasciata to limbless, fossorial forms that convergently resemble snakes.  A smooth, glossy, and beautifully proportioned specimen representing the largest lizard family on Earth — and a scientifically instructive addition to any serious natural history collection or herpetological study.

Perfect for herpetologists, naturalists, natural history collectors, educators, artists, and interior designers seeking authentic specimens with genuine scientific and aesthetic value.
