Named in honour of the French entomologist Rambur, a pioneering figure in odonatology, ramburii is distributed across South and Southeast Asia and is distinguished by its extensive dark wing colouration, with broad blackish-brown suffusion across the wings that creates a dramatic and immediately eye-catching appearance.
