Natural History & Taxonomy
The Giant Atlas Beetle belongs to the Dynastinae subfamily (rhinoceros beetles) within Scarabaeidae. Males exhibit the characteristic three-horned morphology: a prominent cephalic horn and two thoracic projections used in territorial combat. These magnificent beetles are among the largest and most powerful insects on Earth.
