This exceptional arrowhead belongs to the Northern Neolithic Tenerean culture — a sophisticated pastoral society that flourished across the central Sahara during the African Humid Period, when the region supported lakes, grasslands, and abundant wildlife. Tenerean artefacts are among the most refined lithic objects of the African Neolithic, and this example is a superb illustration of why: crafted from a deliberate combination of silex and agate, it demonstrates both technical mastery and a considered aesthetic sensibility in the choice of materials.
The arrowhead has been finely pressure-flaked to a very high standard, with clean, regular flake scars across both faces. The patina — developed over thousands of years of exposure to the Saharan environment — is beautiful and consistent, adding depth and authenticity to the piece. The combination of silex for structural integrity and agate for its visual qualities speaks to a maker who understood both the functional and aesthetic properties of their materials.

This was part of a double order, same as my other review. I’m new to pinning as a hobby in my spare time. From what I can tell they’re good specimens with plenty of variety. My only gripe is that they didn’t come with ID but that wouldn’t stop me from ordering again. Hopefully ID can be added to future purchases.
