Goniatites were ammonite-like marine molluscs that thrived in the world's oceans from the Devonian through to the Permian period — predating the dinosaurs by hundreds of millions of years. Their distinctive spiral shells, preserved in Moroccan limestone over 300 million years ago, are visible within the polished face of each bookend, displaying the intricate natural suture patterns that make goniatite fossils so visually compelling.
These wedge-form bookends combine a clean, practical silhouette with genuine fossil detail — each pair is as useful on a working bookshelf as it is striking on display. Because every piece is cut from natural stone, no two pairs share the same fossil arrangement, colour, or surface marking. What arrives is entirely its own.
